Author Biographies

Zhewen Zhang received a B.Eng. degree in electronics information science and technology from the School of Astronautics, Harbin Institute of Technology, Harbin, China, in 2020. She is currently working towards a Ph.D. degree in the Department of Electrical Engineering, City University of Hong Kong, under the supervision of Prof. Ray C.C. Cheung. Her research interests include RISC-V processor designs, computer architecture, and hardware security.
Yao Liu received B.S. and M.S. degrees in microelectronics from Fudan University, Shanghai, China, in 2008 and 2011, respectively, and a Ph.D. degree from the Department of Electrical Engineering, City University of Hong Kong (CityU), Hong Kong, in 2019. Before he obtained a faculty job, he gained over 5 years of working experience in IC industry and academia. He is currently an Assistant Professor with the School of Microelectronics Science and Technology, Sun Yat-Sen University. His research interests include FPGA prototyping and VLSI implementation for hardware security systems, computer architecture, and network systems.
Yuhan She received a B.Eng. degree from Zhejiang University, China, in 2021. He is now pursuing his Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering in City University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong SAR, under the supervision of Prof. Hong Yan and Prof. Ray C.C. Cheung. His research interests include high-level synthesis, design space exploration for RISC-V architecture, and HW/SW co-design.
Abdurrashid Ibrahim Sanka received a BEng electrical (first class) from the Department of Electrical Engineering, Bayero University, Kano, in 2011 and a master's degree in embedded microelectronics and wireless systems from Coventry University, United Kingdom (U.K.) in 2014, and a Ph.D. degree from the Department of Electrical Engineering, City University of Hong Kong in 2022. He works as a lecturer with Bayero University, Kano since 2012. He joined the CALAS group in 2017 for his Ph.D. with the Department of Electrical Engineering, City University of Hong Kong. His research interests include blockchain technology, embedded systems, high-performance reconfigurable computing with FPGA, and hardware and information security.
Patrick S.Y. Hung received his B.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering from University of Hong Kong, and his M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University. His research interests include high-performance computing and digital security design. He was CBI overseas scholar in UK and Taishan scholar in China. He is currently adjunct professor and co-director CALAS lab at CityUHK. He is cofounder of Alta Sicuro Technology and Velosti Technology.
Ray C.C. Cheung received B.Eng. (Hons.) and M.Phil. degrees in computer engineering and computer science and engineering from The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong, in 1999 and 2001, respectively, and D.I.C. and Ph.D. degrees in computing from Imperial College London, London, U.K, in 2007. He is a Professor with the Department of Electrical Engineering, and an Associate Provost (Digital Learning) with the City University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong. His current research interests include cryptographic processor designs and embedded system designs. He served as the Technical Chair of FPT’02, the General Chair of ARC’12, and the General Co-Chair of FPT’22.
