Muhammad Arslan is a distinguished academic and Senior Lecturer at the Open Polytechnic of New Zealand. He holds a PhD in Accounting and Finance from Lincoln University, New Zealand, where he received the Dean’s Award for his thesis. A Certified Practising Accountant (CPA) and a full member of CPA Australia, he also holds certifications in Xero Advisor and Payroll and the New Zealand Certificate in Adult and Tertiary Teaching. With 12+ years of teaching and research experience, he has taught diverse student cohorts across Mexico, China, Kazakhstan, and the UAE in face-to-face, blended, and online environments. His research portfolio includes 24+ Scopus-indexed publications, with papers featured in SSCI, SCIE, ESCI, ABS, ABDC, Q1, and Q2 journals. He has contributed six book chapters and presented at leading international conferences, including the Academy of Management and the International Conference of the Journal of International Accounting Research. Arslan plays a pivotal role in academic publishing and peer review, serving as an Academic Editor at PLOS One, Guest Editor for the Journal of Risk and Financial Management, and Co-Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Business and Management. A certified peer reviewer and mentor through Publons and Web of Science, he also evaluates funding applications and research manuscripts for leading academic journals. He has supervised and examined several master’s and PhD theses for academic institutions.
