Daniel G. Aller (S’16) was born in Oviedo, Spain, in 1992. He received an M. Sc. degree in telecommunication engineering in 2016 from the University of Oviedo, Gijon, Spain, where he is currently working toward a Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering. His research interests include LED drivers for visible light communication, high-frequency DC/DC converters, and wide-bandgap semiconductors.
Diego G. Lamar was born in Zaragoza, Spain, in 1974. He received an M.Sc. degree and a Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Oviedo, Spain, in 2003 and 2008, respectively. In 2003, 2005, and 2011 he became a Research Engineer, Assistant Professor, and Associate Professor, respectively, at the University of Oviedo. Since April 2022, he has been a Full Professor at the University of Oviedo. Since 2003, he has been involved in Power Electronics, participating in more than 40 research and development projects. He has authored or co-authored more than 200 technical papers in journals and conferences. His main research interests include converter modeling, power-factor correction, LED drivers, DC/DC converters for VLC applications, and wide-bandgap semiconductors in power converters.
Juan R. García-Meré was born in Gijón, Spain, in 1997. He received an M.Sc. degree in telecommunication engineering in 2021 from the University of Oviedo, Oviedo, Spain, where he is currently working toward a Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering. His research interests include high-frequency DC/DC power converters, LED drivers for visible light communication, and techniques to increase the efficiency of RF power amplifiers.
Marta M. Hernando was born in Gijón, Spain, in 1964. She received M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from the University of Oviedo, Gijón, Spain, in 1988 and 1992, respectively. She is currently a Professor at the University of Oviedo. Her main interests include switching-mode power supplies and high-power factor rectifiers.
Juan Rodriguez was born in Avilés, Spain, in 1991. He received an M.Sc. degree in telecommunication engineering and a Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from the University of Oviedo, Oviedo, Spain, in 2014 and 2018, respectively. From 2015 to 2019, he was a Researcher with the Power Supply System Group, University of Oviedo. From 2019 to 2020, he was an Assistant Professor with the Technical University of Madrid (UPM), Madrid, Spain. Since 2020, he has been with the University of Oviedo, where he is currently an Assistant Professor and a member of the Power Supply System Group. His research interests include switching-mode power converters, the use of wide-bandgap semiconductors in power converters, LED drivers for visible light communication, and techniques to increase the efficiency of RF power amplifiers.
Javier Sebastián was born in Madrid, Spain, in 1958. He received an M.Sc. degree from the Technical University of Madrid (UPM), Madrid, Spain, and a Ph.D. degree from the University of Oviedo, Gijon, Spain, in 1981 and 1985, respectively, both in industrial engineering. He was an Assistant Professor and an Associate Professor with UPM and the University of Oviedo. Since 1992, he has been with the University of Oviedo, where he is currently a Professor. His research interests include switching-mode power supplies, modeling of DC/DC converters, single-phase high-power factor rectifiers, LED drivers, DC/DC converters for envelope tracking techniques and visible light communication (VLC), and the use of wide-bandgap semiconductors in power supplies.
