Khalid Al-Hagla is a renowned architect and urban designer who currently holds a professorship in urban design at the Department of Landscape Architecture within the College of Architecture and Planning, Imam Abdulrahman Bin Faisal University in Dammam, Saudi Arabia. Professor Al-Hagla has an extensive background in academia, having previously served as a professor of urban design at the Faculty of Engineering, Alexandria University. During his tenure there, he played a pivotal role as a co-founder of the Alexandria University Centre of Excellence for Smart Urban Governance (ALEXU-CoE-SUG). In addition to his commitments in Egypt, he has held the position of visiting professor at the Faculty of Architecture - Design & Built Environment, Beirut Arab University. His research interests are primarily in urban development, local community development, and urban governance. His administrative capabilities were further demonstrated during his tenure as the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at Alexandria University. Between 2000 and 2003, he was also engaged as a Consultant for the Engineering Department at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina. Dr. Ali Omar Al-Sulbi is an Associate Professor in the Department of Landscape Architecture at the College of Architecture and Planning, Imam Abdulrahman Bin Faisal University in Dammam, Saudi Arabia. He holds a Master of Landscape Architecture specializing in Landscape Planning and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Applications, and a PhD in Environmental Resources Planning and Management. As an affiliate member of the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA), Dr. Al-Sulbi integrates sustainable and innovative practices within urban development, emphasizing ecological sustainability and resource management. His professional and academic pursuits are grounded in enhancing urban landscapes' functionality and aesthetic quality while promoting environmental stewardship. Previously, Dr. Al-Sulbi served as the Landscape Architecture Department chairman, the Vice Dean for academic affairs – College of architecture and Planning, and the Vice Dean for Student Affairs - IAU, where he significantly contributed to the student community and academic policy. He also represents his college in the Scientific Council and is a member of the Permanent Committee for Research and Publication, influencing research directions and scholarly dissemination.
