Prof. Dr. Jiayu Chen is an Associate Professor in the Department of Construction Management at
Tsinghua University, Beijing, China. Before joining Tsinghua University in 2022,
he worked at the City University of Hong Kong as an Assistant Professor
(2013–2019) and then as an Associate Professor (2019–2022). He obtained his
B.S. from the School of Civil and Architectural Engineering of Beijing Jiaotong
University in 2008, and his M.S. and Ph.D. from the Department of Geotechnical
Engineering and Engineering Mechanics of Columbia University, USA in 2010 and
2012, respectively. He finished his Postdoctoral Fellowship at the University
of Nebraska, USA in 2012–2013. His research areas include (1) digital modeling
of urban buildings and environment simulation; (2) human factors sensing
systems and human-centered digital twin modeling; and (3) engineering human–machine
collaboration.
