Prof. Dr. Nadir Ayrilmis has been working as a Full Prof. Dr. in the Department of Wood Mechanics and Technology, Faculty of Forestry, Istanbul University-Cerrahpasa since 1998, and has 27 years of experience in teaching and research in the field of wood technology, wood-based panels, and natural-fiber composites. He graduated from the Forestry Faculty, Istanbul University, in 1996 and started a Master's degree in the same year. He graduated with a Master's degree and doctorate in 2000 and 2006, respectively. He was promoted to Assistant Prof. Dr., Associate Prof. Dr. and full Prof. Dr. in April 2008, December 2008, and June 2014, respectively. Dr. Nadir Ayrilmis has conducted experimental scientific research and lectured at some institutes and universities including Hamburg University (Germany), USDA Forest Products Laboratory (USA), Kangwon National University (South Korea), and Kasetsart University (Thailand). He has supervised three doctoral theses and six Master's theses. He has published more than 225 articles in SCI-E journals. He has participated as an invited speaker in many scientific congresses.
