Yunlong Hong is an undergraduate student majoring in Gemmology at the China University of Geosciences (Beijing). He aims to further his research in the field of gemmology. He has actively participated in various events and science-related activities during his studies and won third prize in the 2024 National English Competition for College Students (NECCS) and the bronze prize in the 2024 Challenge Cup Capital College Students' Entrepreneurship Program. His interests include gemmology, gemstone synthesis, geochemistry, and the study of the Earth's surface.
Dr. Yu Zhang is a laboratory instructor at the School of Gemmology, China University of Geosciences (Beijing), and a Certified Gemstone Checker (CGC) in the People's Republic of China. She received her Ph.D. in Gemmology from China University of Geosciences (Beijing) in 2023. Dr. Zhang is also a member of the Gemmological Association of Great Britain (Gem-A) and serves as a tutor at its associated teaching centers. She lectures on gem identification and color mechanisms of gemstones. Her research interests include gemmology, mineralogy, subduction zone fluids and gemstone synthesis.
Xinyi Shao is a gemmology undergraduate student at the China University of Geosciences in Beijing. She aspires to pursue advanced studies in the field and has demonstrated academic excellence through her active engagement in scientific endeavors. She showcased her research capabilities by leading an award-winning project at the China International College Students' Innovation Competition.
Yanyi Mu is an undergraduate student majoring in Gemmology at the China University of Geosciences (Beijing), She plans to continue conducting research in the field of gemmology. During her studies, she has actively participated in various events and science-related activities, including chemistry, physics, and college English competitions, achieving excellent grades. Her interests include gemmology, gemstone synthesis, and geochemistry.
Yuemiao Yu is a undergraduate at the China University of Geosciences (Beijing) majoring in Art and Technology. She participated in the Summer Social Practice Program, which promotes employment, and won first prize. She has also studied gem processing techniques, gem identification principles and methods, diamond identification and evaluation, and design concepts and methodology. She is proficient in 3D modeling with Maya and ZBrush, as well as jewelry modeling with JewelCAD. Her research interests include minerals, jewelry design, and jewelry valuation.
