Today, I, Juan-Pedro Bolivar, work as a Professor at the University of Huelva (Spain), and am head of the research unit Valorization of Waste and Environmental Radioactivity, belonging to the Center of Natural Resources, Health, and Environment (RENSMA). I currently work in two areas of research: waste recycling and applications of radionuclides in the environment. I have published more than 200 peer-reviewed papers and authored more than 250 publications, including books, book chapters, and proceedings in conferences and scientific meetings. In addition, I have collaborated on the organization of more than 15 conferences and sessions. I have been reviewer for more than 20 international journals, supervised 19 doctoral Thesis, and more than 50 Master Thesis in official postgraduate programs. Throughout my academic career, I have been devoted to teaching in environmental sciences and engineering, at both undergraduate and graduate levels. I have taught courses about acoustic pollution, ionizing radiation, applications of radionuclides in the environment, valorization of industrial waste coming from different industries (TiO2, copper, and fertilizer industries, etc.), and analysis and treatment of environmental data. I have mentored several post-doctoral fellows and visiting scholars, who have gone on to work in consulting in state and federal regulatory agencies, and academia, and provided many research opportunities for undergraduate students.
