Prof. Marcella Visentini received her degree in Medicine and Surgery in 2003 and her Ph.D. in Immunological Sciences in 2012, all from Sapienza University of Rome. From 2012 to 2013, she held a postdoctoral position funded by the Istituto Pasteur–Fondazione Cenci Bolognetti. She was a fixed-term Researcher (RTD-A) from 2014 to 2017 and then a Researcher (RTD-B)
from 2018 to 2021 at Sapienza University of Rome. In 2021, she was promoted to Associate Professor in Internal Medicine in the Department of Translational and Precision Medicine at the same university, where she also serves as Director of the School of Specialization in Allergology and Clinical Immunology. Clinically, she works as a medical officer in the Department of Internal Medicine, Endocrine-Metabolic Sciences, and Infectious Diseases. Her research topics mainly include mixed cryoglobulinemia and autoimmune diseases during the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic, HCV-related lymphoproliferative disorders, and common
variable immunodeficiency.
