Author Biographies

Dr. Gilles Adans-Dester graduated from UCLouvain in 2015. He then completed a six-year residency in urology at various hospitals in Belgium, including a six-month rotation in Geneva. In 2021, he also obtained an inter-university diploma in urologic oncology from the University of Paris-Saclay. His area of expertise is urologic oncology, with a focus on the development of targeted biopsies using image fusion techniques, as well as robotic surgery for the treatment of prostate, kidney, and bladder tumors. He also has particular expertise in complex stone surgery, both endoscopic and percutaneous, with experience in the development of techniques such as flexible ureteroscopy (FURS) and endoscopic combined intrarenal surgery (ECIRS). He works in close collaboration with the departments of medical oncology and radiotherapy. Dr. Adans-Dester currently serves as Deputy Head of Clinic at CHU UCL Namur, Godinne site. He has been a member of the Belgian Association of Urology (SBU) since 2021 and is also a member of the European Association of Urology.
