Dr.Massimiliano Cardinale received an MSc in Natural Sciences and a PhD in Environmental Rehabilitation from the University of Palermo (Italy) in 2000 and 2005, respectively. From 2006 to 2013, he worked as an Assistant Professor at the Institute of Environmental Biotechnology, Graz University of Technology (Austria). From 2013 to 2018, he worked as a Research Associate at the Institute of Applied Microbiology, Justus-Liebig-University (Germany). From 2019 to 2021, he worked as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Biological and Environmental Sciences and Technologies (DiSTeBA), University of Salento (Italy), where he has been an Associate Professor since 2022. His research topics include plant and soil microbiomes, plant–microbe interactions, wine microbiology, and beneficial microbes for sustainable agriculture.
