Born in Odessa, Ukraine, Dr. Svitlana Koval began her journey in dentistry following her receipt of a medal at the International Biology Olympiad at the age of 17. Her academic achievements led her to pursue dental education at Boston University, Goldman School of Dental Medicine, and later at Odessa State Medical University where she specialized in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics, graduating Magna Cum Laude. Dr. Koval is the author of over 20 scientific publications, including a 2024 book chapter on the application of T-Scan digital occlusal analysis in orthodontics and a 2025 chapter on non-surgical maxillary expansion protocols. She is an active lecturer both nationally and internationally. Dr. Koval holds memberships in several professional organizations, including the World Dentofacial Sleep Society, American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine, American Dental Association, Florida Dental Association, European Association of Lingual Orthodontics, and International Association of Orthodontics. She also serves as an opinion leader for Graphy Shape Memory Aligner systems, contributing to advancements in pediatric and adult airway orthodontics. Currently, Dr. Koval is the owner of an airway-focused orthodontic practice in Boca Raton, Florida. Her research interests center on maxillary skeletal expansion in both pediatric and adult populations, as well as the development and application of digital orthodontic techniques for tooth movement and facial growth modification.
