Author Biographies

Bernardino Clavo, MD, PhD, is a Radiation Oncology specialist who currently serves as Head of the Research Unit at the Hospital Universitario de Gran Canaria Dr. Negrín (Las Palmas, Spain), where he is also a staff member of both the Chronic Pain Unit and the Radiation Oncology Department. He is affiliated with the Fundación Canaria Instituto de Investigación Sanitaria de Canarias (FIISC), Las Palmas; Instituto Universitario de Enfermedades Tropicales y Salud Pública de Canarias, Universidad de La Laguna (IUETSPC-ULL), Tenerife; and CIBER de Enfermedades Infecciosas (CIBERINFEC), Instituto de Salud Carlos III, Madrid. Additionally, he is involved with the Spanish Group of Clinical Research in Radiation Oncology (GICOR), Madrid, Spain. He earned his MD and PhD from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, Spain, and is a board-certified Radiation Oncologist. Dr. Clavo is an active member of several professional societies, including ASCO, ASTRO, SEOR, and ISCO3. His principal research interests include brain tumors, ozone therapy, and the management of radiation- and chemotherapy-induced side effects.
