Xiaozhou Wang received her master's degree in urban design from the Washington University in St. Louis in 2014 and is now pursuing a Ph.D. degree in urban planning at Shanghai Jjiao Tong University. She worked as an investment manager at Poly Real Estate (2015–2021). Her research interests mainly include urban renewal policy, spatial planning, land development intensity, and intergovernmental collaboration in urban governance.
Lie You is an Associate Professor and Ph.D. supervisor at the School of Design, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and also a research fellow at the Institute for Urban Governance. He received his degrees in urban planning and architectural sesign from Tianjin University and earned his Ph.D. in urban and rural planning from Tongji University. He is a certified national urban planner in China. His research focuses on the transformation of human settlements, urban regeneration, rural planning, and regional development. He has proposed several original theoretical frameworks, including the “Six-State Model of Human Settlement Transformation,” “Spatial Inertia of Human Settlements,” and the “Cyclical Framework of Human Settlements.” His work has been published in journals such as "Geographical Research", "Urban Planning", and "Land Use Policy", and he has received multiple awards, including the Shanghai Outstanding Achievement Award in Philosophy and Social Sciences and the Jin Jingchang Award for Outstanding Urban Planning Papers in China.
Professor Lin Wang is a Professor and Ph.D. supervisor at the School of Design, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and Director of the International Research Center for Urban Regeneration and Conservation Innovation. She was a Loeb Fellow at Harvard University in 2009. Prior to joining SJTU, she worked for 16 years at the Shanghai Urban Planning and Land Administration Bureau and served as Deputy Director of the Shanghai Urban Planning and Design Research Institute.
Her research focuses on urban regeneration, urban design, heritage conservation, and spatial governance. She has led major projects including Shanghai’s master plan, waterfront redevelopment, and historic district renewal. She also holds key academic roles in national planning and design committees and has received awards such as the Shanghai Decision-making Consultation Award and the MUSE Gold Award in Urban Design.
