Professional Experience. Has been Drasanvi’s Country
Manager in Portugal since November 2016. In this role, he leads the implementation
of the company’s strategy in the Portuguese market, adapting local operations
to promote the brand’s growth in the country. Actually, he also works at
Drasanvi Company is a specialist technician in food supplements, ecological
cosmetics and organic products, including marine collagens, CBD supplements,
weight loss products and aromatherapy. He has also been involved in other
initiatives, such as the chairman of the advisory board of the Association
International Association of Integrative Medicine (ASIMI) is a non-profit organization focused
on integrative medicine and of Institute International of Alternative Medicine
-IIMA company.
Academic Qualifications: As a University of
Porto alumna, Cristina Soares's academic journey spans from a BSc in Chemistry
(2001) to an MSc in Analytical Environmental Chemistry (2007) and a Ph.D. in
Pharmaceutical Sciences focusing on Nutrition and Food Chemistry (2015). After
completing her BSc, she sought to broaden her experience internationally rather
than immediately pursuing a traditional academic career. She received a
training grant at CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research, where
she participated in an intensive analytical chemistry program from 2002 to
2004, specifically within the Quality Control Section, sparked her research
passion. In the framework of her MSc, she joined the University of Islas
Baleares, Spain, as a visiting researcher, shaping her analytical chemistry
skills that she later applied to her MSc research thesis on food contaminants.
Subsequently, she was granted funding to undertake her doctoral studies, where
she studied the impact of coffee processing on acrylamide formation.
Teaching Experience: Following her return,
she accepted an Organic Chemistry, Instrumental Methods of Analysis, and
Environmental Biochemistry position lecturer at the Portuguese Catholic
University from 2006 to 2008. Invited Assistant Professor in Food
Technology of the Master's Degree for Chemical Engineering. Supervisor of

Health at IPP, Porto.
Academic Qualifications: Graduated in Plant Biology from the
Faculty of Sciences, University of Lisbon (FCUL, 2004) and obtained a PhD
degree in Biotechnology from the School of Engineering, the Technical University of

1998until present, she has taught curricular units in the areas of Human
Genetics, Molecular Biology, and Immunology at CESPU establishments.
Scientific Activities: She is an integrated member of
1H-TOXRUN research unit. Since 1990, she has participated in research projects in
the area of Molecular Biology/Human Genetics and Human Health. She supervised a
master's thesis and two PhD theses. She is a co-author of 80 publications: 4 book
chapters and 76 papers published in peer-reviewed, indexed journals. She was
co-author of numerous posters and oral communications at national and
international scientific congresses.
