Prof. Xiangshao Kong received his Bachelor's, Master’s, and Doctoral degrees from Wuhan University of Technology in 2006, 2009, and 2013, respectively. He is a professor of the School of Naval Architecture, Ocean and Energy Power Engineering at Wuhan University of Technology. He is the deputy director of the Ship and Cruise Center and the director of the Ship Mechanics
Institute. He is an editorial board member of the International Journal of Lightweight Materials and Manufacture and the editor-in-chief of the special issue of the Journal of Marine Science and Engineering. He is an American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) member. He has been engaged in research on ship structure safety and reliability in the field of ship and ocean engineering for a long time.
Prof. Cheng Zheng is a Researcher at Green & Smart River-Sea-Going Ship, Cruise and Yacht Research Center, Wuhan University of Technology. He received a Bachelor's degree and a PhD from Wuhan University of Technology in 2012 and 2018, respectively. He also obtained a joint PhD from the University of Liverpool in 2017. He is a member of the China Society of
Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering. His research interests include (1) research on the safety and reliability of ships and waterborne equipment in complex and extreme environments; (2) research on new protection technologies and intelligent equipment for ship impact damage; (3) research on the theory and technology of multifunctional integrated design of unmanned vessels and equipment; and (4) research on the design and development of new concept vehicles and waterborne support platforms.
