Luís-Miguel Borrego earned his medical degree from the University of Lisbon in 1997, his Master's in School Health in 2003, and his PhD in Immunology from NOVA Medical School in 2009. He is now Head of the Allergy and Clinical Immunology Department at Hospital da Luz Lisboa and Associate Professor with Aggregation at NOVA Medical School. His work in immunology and allergy has resulted in 100+ international publications; leadership roles including Vice-President of NOVA Medical School's Ethics Committee and former Secretary-General of the Portuguese Society of Allergy; and 50+ research awards. His clinical expertise mainly includes childhood and adult asthma, food/drug allergies, anaphylaxis, atopic eczema, primary immunodeficiencies, and respiratory function testing.
