Danijela Bursać Kovačević received her MSc in Food Technology and Biotechnology from the University of Zagreb in 2002 and her PhD from the same institution in 2010, and is currently serving as a Full Professor at the Faculty of Food Technology and Biotechnology, University of Zagreb. She worked as an Assistant (2003-2005), Scientific Researcher (2005-2010), Scientific Associate (2010-2016), Assistant Professor (2016-2019), and Associate Professor (2019-present) before being promoted to Full Professor. Her research topics mainly include: Bioactive compounds determination (phenolic profile) using different analytical tools (HPLC-UV/vis, HPLC-DAD, spectrophotometry), total antioxidant capacity (ORAC, ABTS, DPPH, FRAP) methods in fruits and vegetables; Phytochemical analysis of medicinal and aromatic plants; Thermal and non-thermal applications for the extraction of bioactive compounds from plant materials.
