Paulo Rosa-Santos is an Associate Professor with
Habilitation at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto (FEUP)
and an Integrated Member of the Interdisciplinary Centre of Marine and
Environmental Research of the University of Porto (CIIMAR). He graduated in 2003
and received his Ph.D. in Civil Engineering in 2010 from FEUP. His main
research lines focused on the application of physical and numerical modeling to
various areas of Coastal, Port, and Offshore Engineering: Marine Renewable
Energy, Wave Energy, Port Breakwaters, Berthing Structures, Climate Change, and
Coastal Protection. He is a Senior Member and Specialist in Hydraulics and
Water Resources by the Portuguese Engineering Council (Ordem dos Engenheiros),
having participated in more than 45 studies, projects, and consultancy
activities in the areas of Coastal, Port, and Offshore Engineering; Hydrology;
and Urban Hydraulics. He is an Associate Editor of the Journal of Integrated
Coastal Zone Management and Associate Director of the Journal of Water Resources
(since 2017). He has been co-coordinator of the Marine Energy research group at
CIIMAR and NEMAR—Hydraulic Structures and Marine Energy Group at FEUP, since
2016. He has been a Member of the Board of the Northern Regional Branch of the
Portuguese Water Resources Association (APRH-Norte) since 2016.
