He holds a degree in Dentistry (1997), a Master's (2003), a PhD (2011), and a Post-Doctorate (2013) from the Federal University of Santa Catarina. With experience in Prosthodontics, Dental Materials, and Operative Dentistry, he focuses on the physical, mechanical, and biological properties of dental materials, diagnosis, occlusal caries, adhesives, fiber posts, CAD/CAM systems, and dental photography. He is an experienced translator, proofreader, and contributor to journals such as Revista Clínica - International Journal of Brazilian Dentistry, The Journal of Adhesive Dentistry, The Journal of Esthetic and Restorative Dentistry, and PeerJ Life & Environment. He has translated over 1,000 articles and more than 90 books among English, Portuguese, Spanish, and German. He has also reviewed several best-selling dental books. He is currently on the Editorial Board of Revista Clínica, Editor-in-Chief of the Yearbook Digital Dentistry (three volumes until 2022, Editora Napoleão/Quintessence), and Scientific Director of the Brazilian Society of Digital Dentistry. He taught in the Department of Prosthodontics at Tufts University (2022–2025) and is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of General Dentistry at the University of Tennessee, Memphis.
