Dr. Claus Garbe is a Professor of Dermatology at Eberhard
Karls University in Tuebingen, Germany. He directed the Division of
Dermato-Oncology and the Interdisciplinary Skin Tumour Centre for decades. He
is also Head of the German Central Malignant Melanoma Registry and President of
the European Association of Dermato-Oncology (EADO). He began his medical
career at the Free University of Berlin. After obtaining his MD in 1983, he was
board-certified in dermatology and venerology in 1987 and was awarded his Ph.D.
in 1990, specializing in the biology of melanoma cells.
