Summary

Diagnosis and treatment of spinal infections are complex clinical problems requiring multidisciplinary approach. Spinal infections can be classified according to the anatomical location involved. Furthermore, they can be divided into primary and secondary types after surgery. The postoperative spinal infections have grown in the recent decades mainly due to the increase in spinal interventions. This reprint contains clinical studies and literature review papers on the diagnosis and management of spinal infections across many clinical areas including surgical sites, primary infections, diagnostic tools and surgical techniques.
