Summary

This reprint provides a rich and varied collection of articles reflecting the landscape of contemporary research and scholarship on chronic pain and its management. The collection includes reviews and primary research that challenge established beliefs and open new avenues for exploration. The collection has been edited by Mark I. Johnson, PhD, Professor of Pain and Analgesia, and Director of the Centre for Pain Research at Leeds Beckett University. Mark has investigated the science of pain and its management for over 35 years, focusing on factors influencing pain experience and response to treatment. More recently, he has explored art and pain, community-support pain services, and the concept of painogenicity.
