Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
Glioblastoma (GBM) is a highly lethal brain tumor with a poor response to immunotherapies that have been successful in more immunogenic cancers with a less immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment (TME). The unique brain microenvironment, with a peculiar immune environment and cell types , anatomical structures including the blood–brain barrier, and metabolic constraints, represents the landscape in which primary and metastatic brain tumors originate and grow, influencing their biological behavior.
In this Special Issue, we will focus on the molecular, histopathological and imaging features of the primary and metastatic brain tumor microenvironment. This Special Issue will include pre-clinical and clinical studies that focus on biological characterization, physio-pathological insights, clinico-pathological applications including advanced imaging techniques and the identification of new potential therapeutic targets and agents. The studies included in this Special Issue may be based on preclinical models as well as clinical series. Original research manuscripts are favored. High-quality systematic reviews and meta-analyses will be also considered for publication.
