About the event

The Frankfurter Buchmesse is the world's largest and most significant book fair. It is a premier gathering for publishers, authors, literary agents, and book lovers to negotiate rights, discuss the future of publishing, and showcase new releases. The fair provides a platform for both business opportunities and socio-political discussions, bringing together professionals from over 100 countries. The Guest of Honor for 2025 is the Philippines, with the theme "The imagination peoples the air".

When?

The fair will take place from 15–19 October 2025.

Where?

The event will be held at the Messe Frankfurt in Frankfurt am Main, Germany.

The Frankfurter Buchmesse 2025 will feature a wide range of events and opportunities for attendees. Highlights include:

Workshops and Training: The professional program offers various events and networking opportunities, including masterclasses and the Frankfurt Rights Meeting, which will focus on topics like AI, digital licensing, and merchandising.

Cultural Engagement: As the Guest of Honor, the Philippines will have a special cultural program showcasing its literature, art, and storytelling. There will be performances, film presentations, and exhibitions.

MDPI's Presence: We invite attendees to visit us at Booth C103 in Hall 4.0, where we will be showcasing our publications and services. Additionally, we are delighted to be presenting "The Future is Open: Peer Review in Open Access Book Publishing" on the Innovation Stage in Hall 4.0 at 11 am CEST on Thursday, October 16, 2025.
