Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

I commend the authors for their well-done summary and review of the literature on Esophageal Food Impactation and Foreign Object Ingestion in the Upper Gastrointestinal Tract - the clinical cases presented were outstanding.

The authors review the current DX/TX processes that effectively adress GI FOB (with a focus on esophageal impaction. The topic is relevant to the field, it helps summarize the current DX/TX paradigm. This is a well done case series with review of the relevant literature. this is helpful to clinicians as a quick summary relevant to the field.

Author Response

Dear reviewer,

Thank you very much for taking time to review our manuscript and also for your comments.

Reviewer 2 Report

Congratulations on the Review. I have some comments:

In the diganosis part could you expand the part on suspect perforation with criteria for suspecting a perforation of the esophagus.

In the management part could you please comment on not using sedation for this type of endoscopic intervention (for basic cases). Also in this part could you put a picture of some (as many as you can find) tools for foreign body extraction.
