Interesting case on a vulnerable population during the Covid-19 pandemic. The authors present the case well and cite appropriate supporting literature to explain the observation. My only recommendation is to add some discussion on the role of splenectomy in this context a bit more in the intro and/or discussion.

More correlation should be done between post COVID and thalassemia with more explanation regarding the mechanisms that suppress the immunity in thalassemia
