Can Intentional Weight Loss Ameliorate Sarcopenia in Individuals with Obesity? A Longitudinal Interventional Study
Round 1
Reviewer 1 Report
the work presented by the authors is interesting because it takes into consideration two fundamental aspects to combat sarcopenia in overweight and obese subjects. It is now evident that in clinical practice, adopting a correct lifestyle through a healthy diet and constant motor activity, could be a valid help in improving the patient's quality of life. Physical activity associated with a low-calorie diet of the Mediterranean type, brings benefits to the musculoskeletal system, as well as to the restoration of metabolic values which, on the other hand, are altered in an obese subject.
However, this study reports two critical points reported below:
1) In any case, it would have been interesting to investigate also at the metabolic level how the sarcopenia index varies after 6 months of physical activity.
2) the case studies still need to be implemented.
In any case, I believe the work is sufficient to be considered for a publication. Also, if the first point could be taken into consideration, I am sure it could give more importance to the manuscript.

Reviewer 2 Report
In this study, the authors evaluated the effectiveness of a weightloss program to ameliorate Sarcopenic Obesity in human subjects.
The authos did a great job framing their study and presenting their findings.
Comments: The authors should include a discussion of:
- Why do some obese patients exhibit Sarcopenia and others don´t?
- What are the underlying causes and possible mechanisms for developing Sarcopenia in obese patients?
