Genotype-by-Environment Interaction Analysis of Metabolites in Pearl Millet Genotypes with High Concentrations of Slowly Digestible and Resistant Starch in Their Grains
Round 1
Reviewer 1 Report
The study was focused around an important area of metabolite diversity in pearl millet, an important crop in the developing world. The study is conducted methodically and the results are explained in a lucid manner. The assessment of eleven pearl millet hybrids which were earlier identified for possessing high concentrations of SDS and RS in their grains. More importantly, the stable performance of these hybrids was assessed across five different environmental conditions. The useful outcome of the study is that hybrids were chosen for resistant starch and slowly digestible starch which are important to have low GI in pearl millet. The contribution of this study is significant in view of its practical applications.
Certain syntax errors have been marked in the text. Sentences which are incomplete are marked in the text. Manuscript needs to be edited for the language.
