Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

Dear Profs. Eidtor/Authors

I ream the manuscript entitled " Occurrence Characteristics of Magnetite and Aeromagnetic Prospecting in Northeast of Hebei Province" that is overall good. I have some comments as follows :

1- Abstract is written as isolated sentences. So, Please rewrite ir as a story strating wirg reasearch problem, aim, methos, results, applicabilty of your paper for other areas around the world.

2- Authors shouid provide the introduction with more recent studies about the use of aeromagnetic and potential field data in mineral exploration.

I suggest to read and support it with these references:

Towards the automated analysis of regional aeromagnetic data to identify regions prospective for gold deposits

3- all the figure are with olny one latitue point. Every map must have two points of long and lat at least to let the reader know the extention of the study area.

4- Why the aythors dont provide a strcutural map from magnetic data???

I need to see lineament map extracted from the magnetic data using advanced edge methods like:

High precision structural mapping using edge filters of potential field and remote sensing data: A case study from Wadi Umm Ghalqa area, South Eastern Desert, Egypt, The Egyptian Journal of Remote Sensing and Space Science, Volume 25, Issue 2, Pages 501-513, ISSN 1110-9823, https://doi.org/10.1016/j.ejrs.2022.03.001.

5- This paper without discussion??

Please add strong discussion part that concern with the interpretation of your new findings, comaping your results with other studies,..... etc

Best Regards

Modification Description

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

1- Abstract is written as isolated sentences. So, Please rewrite ir as a story strating wirg reasearch problem, aim, methos, results, applicabilty of your paper for other areas around the world.

We rearranged and compiled the abstract according to the opinions of the expert to achieve the effect of fluency and form it as a story. And we noticed to summary the aim, methods, and the results of the artcle.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

2- Authors shouid provide the introduction with more recent studies about the use of aeromagnetic and potential field data in mineral exploration.

We downloaded the excellent articles recommended by expert. After careful reading, we learned the application effect of the latest aeromagnetic methods, then added relevant contents in the introduction.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

3- all the figure are with olny one latitue point. Every map must have two points of long and lat at least to let the reader know the extention of the study area.

We revised the longitude and latitude in all the maps according to the expert's opinions.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

4- Why the aythors dont provide a strcutural map from magnetic data???

I need to see lineament map extracted from the magnetic data using advanced edge methods like:

We have supplemented the relevant maps of " Figure 2. Reduction to the pole of aeromagnetic DT and depth by Euler deconvolution of the study region." and added the fractures in Figure 5.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

5.Please add strong discussion part that concern with the interpretation of your new findings, comaping your results with other studies,..... etc

We believe that the expert's advice is very necessary, so we have added strong discussion part in the end of the article.

Review

The authors use a variety of methods (potential field data analytics, electrical methods, geochemistry, etc.) to validate potential field anomalies as economic targets. The paper was interesting and a good read; however, nothing particularly groundbreaking is presented. The pattern matching presented in the context of significant geological and geochemical data cannot necessarily be extrapolated outside this survey area. It does present an interesting case study in northern China, and can be made suitable for publication with revision. There are several missing figures and language/grammar corrections that must be corrected before publication.

Comments

- There are minor language and grammar errors throughout the manuscript. I’ve attached a marked-up PDF highlighting major problems and suggesting corrections.

-Table 1 has a major issue. For the Volcanic and Intrusive rocks, the values all need to be shifted one column to the right. The arithmetic mean value is repeated.

-Figures 2c-2d are referenced in the text and missing.

-Several maps have only one latitude/longitude hash mark on each side of the axis. There should be at least two.

-It appears you calculate the first vertical derivative as nT/km. The areas shown are not that large. This should be calculated as nT/m. The value in the 1VD is the ability to discern fine structure. You lose this using an increment of 1 km.

-Figures 3c-3d are referenced in the text and missing.

1.There are minor language and grammar errors language and grammar errors I’ve attached a marked-up PDF highlighting major problems and suggesting corrections.

Thank you very much for correcting the language and grammar errors in our articles after your busy work. I am very moved by your serious and responsible professional attitude. We have corrected our mistakes followed yours marked-up PDF highlighting. Before you corrected the language and grammar errors, I was not quite sure about some using of the words, for example:"Propitious", "termed", "produced". We believe that after such advanced polishing, the language expression of the article is more accurate and advanced. The application of several professional words can also guide the translation of my future articles. Thank you again, because this kind of glossy embellishment cannot be achieved by embellishing company.

2.Table 1 has a major issue. For the Volcanic and Intrusive rocks, the values all need to be shifted one column to the right. The arithmetic mean value is repeated.

We are so sorry for this error during the table layout. Thank you for pointing it out! We have modified it.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

3.-Figures 2c-2d are referenced in the text and missing.

During the revision of the previous draft, we removed the corresponding Figures 2c-2d according to the editing requirements, but the text was not completely modified. According to the expert's opinion, we have achieved the comparison of pictures and texts.

We ignored this problem before. With the guidance of experts, we believe that the unit of this indicator is very important in the process of prospecting. We have adjusted it in time. Thank you very much for your correction.

Round 2

Reviewer 1 Report

Dear Prof. Editor/Authors

The authors have efficiently responded to my review comments and made the necessary corrections/changes. Therefore, I think that the manuscript could be accepted for publication. But there is small revision about the location and caption of Fig.  11. So, please revise it during the production.

Best Regards

Author Response

Dear expert teacher, we revise the name of the figure 11 before. It changes the name of figure 12. The line should be E-F. I am so sorry.

Figure 12. Aeromagnetic anomaly JDB-10 and its corresponding magnetite deposit. (a) Aeromagnetic data DT, (b) reduction to the pole of aeromagnetic data DT, (c) the first vertical derivative of reduction to the pole of aeromagnetic data DT, (d) depth by Euler deconvolution, (e) photograph of iron deposit mined. E–F are the locations of the section shown in figure 13.
