Cover Story: Pharmacists face challenges in all practice settings operating in a dual healthcare and business environment. Business management is not the reason as to why most pharmacists are attracted to the profession and this important role is often overlooked as a result. This creates a need to identify the necessary business management skills for community pharmacists and address any barriers that may hinder changes in management within the profession. Our study discovered 13 business management skills/attributes to be used across all community pharmacist participant groups. We found potential barriers limiting business management involvement, strategies to improve success in business management, and opportunities for culture change across the profession. View this paper
