Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

I really enjoyed reading about this study and I'm glad to see that this population was taken into consideration.

I also believe that the implications of this research are valid.

Author Response

thanks and looking forward to seeing the paper published.

Reviewer 2 Report

The results section is too brief and leaves the reader with out enough guidance to support the results.  The conclusion then is too broad and quickly leaves the math realm to make conclusions about society in general.

Author Response

Thank you for the comments. They have helped us improve the paper. All the changes are in red.

Here is the list of changes:

1- In the methods section, we added to the measurement section.

2- In the results section, we added b, and 95% CI for the associations. So the result section has more to it now than before.

3- In the discussion section, we deleted a part that was on labor market discrimination, and the reviewer / editor had found less relevant.

4- In the limitation section, we mentioned that ethnic groups may be differently exposed to these factors. So we enhanced the limitation section as well.

5- Finally, our new conclusion section is only focused on math performance without jumping to the any conclusion about the society in general.
