Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

Dear editor and authors, Thank you for the opportunity to contribute to reviewing this work. I appreciate the efforts of the authors. However, I consider it relevant to address the following points for the journal's quality requirements: The introduction must state the reason for the gender variable (women inmates) in relation to the study variables. In this way, the reader can understand why it is posed as one of the objectives. Objectives should be set after having emphasized their relevance. Sample size may be a drawback, however access to a larger number of participants is considered.

Some of the variables under study could be related. This procedure would allow us to explore the relationship between variables.

In short, I think the authors have done a good job and I congratulate them on that. I hope these suggestions help you finish shaping it and make it processable for publication.

Thanks again

Reviewer 2 Report

The manuscript entitled "The professional dimension in the Spanish prison socio-educational action" is an interesting analysis of the educational context of reintegration in prison. The research questions are clearly stated on the basis of current scientific literature (mainly from Spain). Method is described appropriately. However, results are presented poorly.

  1. Tables are unclear when they are combined. Please, include data for one statistical analysis in one table (e.g., Table 2 should be spilled into two separate tables). Tables 2, 3, 4 i 5 should be changed.
  2. It is suggested to use in the Results section a standardized symbol for the following statistics: p instead of "Pv" and Χ2 instead of "Chi-square".
  3. It is strongly encouraged to include all statistics in table 2, 3, 4, 5, namely the exact value of Χ2 test, df, and p (even it is not significant!), as well as effect size (e.g., φ or Cramer's V, respectively).
  4. I do not know what "NP" is (as it was suggested above, all data should be  reported, even if it is insignificant).
  5. Please, be consistent and if you report percentages with one decimal place all numbers should be like this (including 100.0%).
  6. Please, see the APA manual for more details.
