Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

Include specific definitions of terms, such as Leadership Avoidance.

Better explain how the questionnaires related to the COVID19 Pandemic issues.

Author Response

Thank you very much for your response to the article.  You specified a good level in all dimensions.  You just wanted an explanation of how the questionnaires are related to the corona epidemic.  The article examines the ability and performance of the school principals during the corona epidemic from their point of view and also from the point of view of his teachers in the team.  That's why there was a questionnaire of the administrators' abilities and also a questionnaire of the teachers' abilities to check cross-checking

Author Response

Thank you very much for the clear and incisive feedback.  I read very carefully the positive comments that should be preserved and also the comments that need improvement.  In my opinion, the article is clearly written and the research objectives are clearly mentioned.  I emphasize that the article stemmed from the need to check the functioning and capabilities of school principals during the Corona crisis.  Both from their point of view and from the point of view of the teachers in the team.  So all the mentioned comments only support the original claim of the article.  Some of them I will take I took to the junction of my heart.

Reviewer 3 Report

Thanks for the manuscript. While it is well written, the study only contributes limited new insights (e.g., findings) as there are already a lot of similar studies in this context. Therefore, it will be beneficial for the readers if the manuscript could highlight

1. the impacts of this study for the current and/or future education setting

2. the difference between this study and the existing literature

3. the methodology section by including a sound theoretical/conceptual framework

4. the limitations of the study as well as the possible future study

Lastly, it will be useful for the manuscript to go through professional editing in order to enhance the readability. Look forward to receiving the revised work.

Author Response

Thank you very much for the helpful feedback.  Regarding the effects of this study on the future education framework: this article sheds light on the functioning and capabilities of school principals during the Corona crisis.  During the crisis, additional work is required of them and also a non-trivial function, therefore new skills are required of them, and in this context the training institutes are supposed to take this into account and train managers for non-trivial times and crises such as the Corona crisis.  Second, this study was written during the crisis and therefore all the data collected were relevant to this period unlike previous studies in the field that studied school leadership in a normal period.  Regarding the limitation of the study: that it tested a limited population of managers and teachers and it is very important to expand it to the entire country.

Round 2

Reviewer 1 Report

This was a revision. I have no comments at this time.

Author Response

Thank you very much for your feedback on the article.  I see that you have marked that everything is in order and you have no comments at this time.

Reviewer 3 Report

Thanks for the revised manuscript. A few more suggestions:

1. It will be useful to incorporate an overarching theoretical/conceptual framework in order to reflect the methodology soundness;

2. It will be beneficial to make the research aims/questions explicit in order for the results to show how they are being addressed;

3. It will be crucial to emphasise the significance/impacts of the study in the discussion (e.g., what is the contribution of this study?);

4. It will be important to include more recent reference (i.e., the most updated one thus far is 2020);

5. It will be necessary for this manuscript to go through professional proof reading service in order to enhance the readability.
