Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

I consider that the manuscript carries out an in-depth bibliographical study on an interesting topic, especially post-pandemic. Both conceptually and methodologically, it presents a good structure and scientific quality.

General Comments:

The paper is focused on the critical success factors (CSF) for blended learning (BL) in the post-pandemic period. CSFs are clearly described in terms of the blended environments.  The topic is  very relevant within the current context of HEIs.Visual components are clear and meaningful to the purpose they entail. The discussion of results is explicitly and carefully supported.

Line 56-  You say “blended learning is a new kind of learning method” . I disagree with the word “new”. Blended learning is not that new. The term was coined around 2002.

It also not clear to me (though I know it is recurrent in literature) what do you mean when you mention “traditional learning”. Is it face-to-face? Is is it mostly theoretical?  I also use the word “traditionaI” but with an explanation of the semantic traits it entails.  I gave a lot of thought on the  Pre-pandemic BL concept and I believe it goes on being more a paradigm that a methodology. By 2016 my definition was: blended learning (b-learning)- N-noun) <distance education> mixed learning paradigm that integrates e-learning with traditional learning theories and practices, materialized in a flexible, multimodal and multilinear redesign that promotes self-regulation and collaborativeness.

(Putting order into our universe: The concept of blended learning—A methodology within the concept-based terminology framework. Education Sciences6 (2), 15.)  In 2023, I believe the definition is absolutely valid because it promotes self-regulation and and self-efficacy, as you also mentioned.

English accuracy

Line 77 - Minor revisions required Please, check the syntax of the verb help  (bare infinitive- without the preposition *to)

Please verify the syntagmatic coherence of plural and singular in noun phrases. For example:

Line 203 - “critical success factors mainly *includes  student characteristics “ – please remove the “s”
