Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

This paper contributes significantly in the teaching and learning process. Teachers' well-being is very important to make difference in students' learning. I think, authors have written a good piece that adds value in the academia.

Only the minor mistakes are typos in one or two places that can be ignored as well. For implications on what ways they look for new contributions in the same phenomena that will help to investigate the well-being of teachers in different continents at different educational levels.

TITLE AND ABSTRACT

The title effectively encapsulates the article's subject matter, while the abstract provides a solid overview of the research focus, its relevance, and the methodology used.

INTRODUCTION

The incorporation of a theoretical framework to conceptualize teacher well-being is valuable, but the discussion could be streamlined for clarity. The introduction includes an extensive discussion of different definitions and perspectives on well-being, which, while informative, might be better suited for the literature review section. Focusing on how well-being is conceptualized specifically in the context of teachers and education could make this section more relevant and concise.

Overall, the introduction is well-researched and effectively conveys the significance of the study. To enhance its clarity and reader engagement, consider streamlining the discussion of definitions and theoretical frameworks, explicitly stating the research gap being addressed

METHODS

The method section provides a detailed account of the systematic review process employed in the study. It is evident that the researchers have followed established guidelines and procedures to ensure rigor and credibility.

However, there are a few areas where clarity and organization could be improved:

-          Clarity in Research Methodology Explanation: The method section starts by introducing the systematic literature review technique without directly explaining how it was conducted. It might be beneficial to begin by succinctly describing the systematic review process and then elaborating on how it was applied in the context of this study.

-          Citation Format Consistency: While the inclusion of multiple citations strengthens the credibility of the methodological choices, there are instances where different citation formats are used for the same reference (e.g., "Kitchenham et al., 2009; Webster & Watson, 2002"). Ensuring consistent citation format throughout the text adds to the professional appearance of the article.

-          Explanation of Selection Criteria: The study's inclusion and exclusion criteria are clearly presented. However, the rationale behind some of the criteria could be elaborated upon. For example, why were only empirical studies selected? What is the reasoning behind excluding unpublished theses?

-          Transparency in Quality Assessment: The method section mentions the criteria used for quality assessment but does not provide details on how these criteria were applied or how they influenced the final selection of studies. Adding a brief explanation or an example would enhance the transparency of the review process.

-          Description of Data Analysis Process: The data analysis process, specifically the thematic analysis, is briefly mentioned. However, it would be helpful to elaborate on how themes were identified, how they were categorized, and how the analysis contributed to answering the research questions.

-          Justification for Choice of Databases: While the selected databases (Scopus, Google Scholar, Science Direct) are mentioned, a brief justification for choosing these specific databases in relation to the research topic could provide context for readers.

RESULTS

The "Results" section is excessively lengthy; it is suggested to try to condense the content. Additionally, some of the graphs based on percentages are irrelevant as they are unnecessary for the comprehension of the results.

DISCUSSION AND CONCLUSIONS

Overall, the conclusion seems comprehensive and detailed, providing a summary of the study's key findings and discussing the limitations of the research. The authors have clearly outlined the three research questions they aimed to address and summarized their findings for each question. The conclusion also acknowledges the significance of the study's findings in informing educational policies and interventions.

However, there are a few areas where the conclusion could be improved or refined:

-          Clarity and Organization: The conclusion is quite lengthy and contains a lot of information. It might benefit from clearer organization and headings to make it easier for readers to navigate and understand the key points.

-          Language and Style: The language used is quite technical and dense, which might make it challenging for some readers to comprehend. Simplifying some of the sentences and using more concise language could enhance readability.

-          Citations and Attribution: While the conclusion presents key findings and discussions, it would be helpful to integrate specific references to the studies that contribute to these findings. This would add credibility and allow readers to refer back to the original sources.

-          Suggestions for Future Research: Including a brief section on potential areas for future research could provide a sense of direction for researchers who may want to build upon the study's findings.

-          Practical Implications: The conclusion discusses the implications for educational policies and interventions, but it might be beneficial to elaborate on these implications in a more practical and actionable way. How can the findings be translated into concrete steps to support teachers' wellbeing?

-          Limitations and Scope: While the conclusion does address limitations of the study, it could further elaborate on how these limitations might affect the generalizability or reliability of the findings. This would provide a more balanced perspective on the study's contributions and potential shortcomings.

-          Synthesis and Integration: The conclusion could further integrate the findings across the three research questions and provide an overarching synthesis of the study's contributions to the field. This would help readers understand the bigger picture and the interconnections between different aspects of teachers' wellbeing.

In summary, the conclusion of the article provides a detailed overview of the study's findings and their implications. However, by improving organization, clarity, practical implications, and integration of findings, the authors can make the conclusion more accessible and impactful for a broader readership.

Inclusion of the Research Methodology: The title does not mention the specific research approach, such as "systematic review" or "meta-analysis." Adding the research methodology to the title would give readers a clearer understanding of the study's nature and scope.
