Reviewer 2 Report

Major points:

The connection between LUI and PLSI needs to be explained – is PLSI the LUI translated to Turkish or did the use different questions in PLSI? Who created the original PLSI in English? It needs to be explained in the introduction on page 2 not on page 4 lines 158-174

Please, give examples of what Chiang (2008) calls “challenging” behaviors – this is a vague term (p2. line 64)

Please have a native English speaker read the paper as it needs extensive editing with English grammar – there are too many fragments, ungrammaticalities, redundancies, and odd use of language in the manuscript for me to point out in this review.

Minor edits:

Spell out what TOPL-2 stands for – p2 line 89

Same for CELF-4 – p2. Line 92

p.2 line 63 remove (s before the citation

lines 65-66 revise the beginning of the sentence “Studies have indicated that children neglected, and maltreated children….” To “Studies have indicated that neglected and maltreated children…

line 70 Assessment should not be capitalized.

Lines 70-84 - This paragraph needs to be revised:

Language Use Inventory can be introduced in one sentence in a more concise manner instead of two sentences with fragments on line 71-75.

p.4 line 183 the first sentence is not necessary and can be deleted.
