Chiral Dual-Core Photonic Crystal Fiber for an Efficient Circular Polarization Beam Splitter
Round 1
Reviewer 1 Report
In this manuscript, authors propose an efficient circular polarization beam splitterbased on dielectrically chiral dual-core photonic crystal fiber, which is a very
meaningful result for the application of circularly polarized beam in fiber. Authors
have written the manuscript very systematically and underlying theory has been
discussed in details. In my opinion, the corrections are needed before accepted as follow:
1. The symbol ‘S’ is used to descript the polarization states in text, while
in the figure it is ‘S3’ (see Figure 2-7). This causes ambiguity while reading
the paper.
2. In Figure 1 in the page 3 should be ‘D1、D2’ instead of ‘D1、D2’ for consistency in text.
3. Since there is sub-section ‘S’ in Figure. 2 (c), the letter ‘S’ should be corrected in the caption to Figure. 2(c), please describe in more details.
4. There is an unclear label of value ‘with d d/Λ’ in Figure. 5(c). It should be changed or explained in the main text or in the figure legend.

Dear editor
The manuscript of title
‘’ Chiral dual-Core photonic crystal fiber for efficient circular polarization beam splitter””
I went through the manuscript
The author’s investigated the effect of chiral dual-core photonic crystal fiber as a potential material for obtaining circular polarization beam splitter. They apply a scheme calculation known as chiral plane-wave expansion (PWE). Their simulation results show a larger performance of shorter coupling length and higher extinction ratio. Furthermore, the dual-wavelength of 1.55μm and 1.30μm with left-circular polarization can further be separated by the corresponding chiral dual-core photonic crystal.
The overall manuscript is acceptable for publication, however, it needs more improvement before the final acceptance could be reached.
1-In the introduction part: the author passes quickly over the wavelengths 1.55μm and 1.30μm, the authors must refer that these wavelengths are emitted from some quantum dot laser and also these wavelengths propagate without distortion through fiber (Zero dispersion of the group velocity), therefore the authors must add this part to the introduction with suitable references.
2- in Pag 2 line 55 some references are missing.
3- can the authors tell the readers how the group velocity dispersion can affect their calculation?
4- before conclusions I suggested that the authors add how their design could be implemented experimentally.
5- to keep the harmony of the manuscript, a minor point to mention about the UK and USA English since I noticed for example many Fiber and Fibre.

The manuscript entitled “Chiral dual-core photonic crystal fiber for efficient circular polarization beam splitter” required major changes for publication
1. The author should be mentioned the novelty and significance of the proposed work clearly in the abstract.
2. Figure no. 1 should be revised as more informative as the proposed design.
3. The author should include the table of comparison for the performance matrix with the existing design in the result section.
