Facile preparation of Au-Ag composite nanostructure for high-2 sensitive and uniform surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy
The authors present a review about Facile preparation of Au-Ag composite nanostructure for high-2 sensitive and uniform surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy.
This is a well-written and structured manuscript but is very poor about the litterature and about the comparison of the realized structure compared with the state of art.
The concept based on the realization of the SERS substrate has been enriched with several literature papers. The crucial point about the ordered and periodic (Xiaoguo Fang et al. in Hierarchically Ordered Silicon Metastructures from Improved SelfAssembly-Based Nanosphere Lithography 2020, Pisco et al. in Self-assembled periodic patterns on the optical fiber tip by microsphere arrays 2015) and non-ordered SERS nanostructure have be included in the introduction. The methods used (nanosphere litography, self assembling method, .....) have be included in the introduction. After these points the authors can be introduce the advantage and disadvantage of the proposed SERS structure.
The simulation section has been enriched with more details about the simulations.
How do the authors simulate the structure knowing that the real structure is not ordered?
In the conclusion section the author can introduce the advantage and performance of the proposed nanostructure comparing with the state of art.

The present manuscript entitled "Facile preparation of Au-Ag composite nanostructure for high-sensitive and uniform surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy" by Wenjie Liu, Zhonghua Yan, Weina Zhang, Kunhua Wen, Bo Sun, Xiaolong Hu, and Yuwen Qin (photonics-2289896) is written correctly and has a good structure; moreover, it has all the necessary parts. The article is interesting from a spectroscopy point of view; therefore, it should interest the reader. I proposed improvements in the method description and with a presentation of figures. The paper meets Photonics' requirements, and I recommend the article for publication in Photonics following the common editing stage. My current decision is a minor revision. More specific comments and observations are presented below.
1. RSD expressed as a percentage is the coefficient of variation (CV).
2. The text in Figure 1 is hard to see.
3. Figures with Raman spectra. You can numerically sign the most important bands.
4. Page 6, line 178. “SERS” should be instead of “SRES”.
5. If possible, please specify the validation parameters, e.g., LOD, LOQ, and linear range.
6. Discussion of disadvantages should be added.
7. Conclusions. Please clearly highlight the most important advantage of the research conducted.
8. References. Please check with the requirements of the journal. Sometimes there is an abbreviation of the journal, and sometimes the full name.
I hope that the comments presented will help improve the article.
