The article shows an important study of the behavior of the dielectric function of Ta2O5 at different temperatures, I recommend some minor details, which would help a better understanding of the reader:

1. Write the parameters of the structure C2/c in the conventional cell and the respective reference

2. I recommend writing the formula used for the VASP to calculate the imaginary part of the dielectric function (M. Gajdos, K. Hummer, G. Kresse, J. Furthmuller, and F. Bechstedt, Phys. Rev. B 73(4), 045112 (2006).)

Response:  We thank the reviewer for the comment. The lattice parameters of the structure C2/c is provided and the respective reference is cited.

The article present a study of the dielectric function of Tantalium pentoxyde, both from numerical and experimental point of view. The originality is the study of temperature dependence of this quantity.

the manuscript is essentially well written, sounds scientifically correct, confirms some results and give a new information that could be useful for potential applications in photonics.

Therefore I recommend the publication in the present form, or maybe after completing the bibliography about the experimental and numerical studies on this coumpound, because it is emphasized in the introduction that there exists a certain lack of temperature dependent studies on TaO5. I would recommend to support this affirmation by providing a more extended bibliographic study. I don't consider this as an essential aspect, but that could improve the message.
