Numerical Study on Pool Boiling of Hybrid Nanofluids Using RPI Model
Round 1
Reviewer 1 Report
Minor comments:
The current investigations deal with the prediction of the pool boiling of (Al2O3 +MgO) hybrid nanofluids from a typical horizontal heater insert inside a boiling chamber at atmospheric pressure conditions. In my opinion, this work is interesting and appropriate for publication in the “Fluids “ but some points are recommended to be revised before publication.
Recommendation: Minor Revision
Comments:
- The introduction lacks many important papers. Authors can cite these references:
https://arc.aiaa.org/doi/10.2514/1.T5960
https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S1110016821000053
- The abstract can be written in a more interesting way, structure of the abstract needs a revision. Revise the abstract to provide (i) the
significance of the study, (ii) the aim of the study, (iii) the research methodology, (iv)
the major conclusion of the study. - Add some important numerical outcomes to the final abstract section.
- In the last paragraph of the Introduction, the authors should clearly mention the
weakness point of former works (identification of the gaps) and describe the novelties
of the current investigation to justify us the paper deserves to be published in this journal. - Nomenclature section is missing in the paper.
- Add relevant references to the governing equations.
- Go through correctness all mathematical equations and its appearances.
- Extensive check for English and structure of the text is required.

The English level is to be improved.
The used turbulence model is to be justified.
Why the turbulence formulation is used ? have you checked that the flow is really turbulent? Have evaluated Rayleigh number?
A reference is to be added to Table 2.
Replace ‘’Kpa’’ by ‘’kpa’’
The convergence criterion is to be expressed mathematically.
The boundary conditions are to be expressed mathematically.
A qualitative validation (2D profiles) is to be performed.
The resolution of fig. 6 is low.
The font size of the legends of Fig. 7 is very small.
