Reviewer 1 Report

I'm not sure where to find the ethical statement in this study. This study involved human subjects. Should have consent from respondents/subjects

The article examines the potential correlation of two cognitive styles (visual type, verbal type) and two working-memory levels (high, low) on the ability of arranging a simple flower design studying first-year students at two university programs. The study design is basic and only 37.5 variance could be explained by the observed factors. Overall, the manuscript is structured well, the level of English is satisfactory (there are some minor inconsistencies in using proverbs etc) but I do not believe that the data is very relevant for publication. Participants did not really differ considerably in cognitive styles as well as in working memory which is to be expected – I believe that most florists are indeed visual processors with moderate working memory ability and that the ability of floral design is a skill mostly dependent on practice, precision and (in more advances floral arranging) creativity. Therefore, I cannot recommend this manuscript for publication.

The manuscript entitled "Effect of Cognitive Style and Working Memory on Floral Design Ability" is a new contribution that falls into the scope of Floriculture. The concept is original and interesting giving us new insights on how students perceive different styles of floral design education. I find that the manuscript is well structured and carefully written and I therefore suggest it for publication in Horticulturae.

Round 2

The authors replied to my concern on the validity of research and the potential interest to readers. There is a minor language mistake that needs to be edited prior to potential publication:
