Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

Very interesting argument. It is always amazing to see how people apply biology-as-metaphor to linguistics and other topics.

This was very well done.

Reviewer 2 Report

Very well written throughout. Presented and argued very well throughout except for the conclusion. The way quantum superposition is introduced and presented in the last 4 paragraphs seems abrupt and not well argued. Also, it is not convincing why it is presented as a "solution" since it seems to better represent another analogous description of mythic activity. Superposition does not act as hide and seek but more like "both at once", though the two interpretations may not be incompatible, but it is not explained by the author. It's also not clear what the "mythovirologist" gains or solves using superposition over the careful and convincing analogous use of virology to expose signification.

Response: Arguments and explanations have been added to the manuscript to clarify the notion of "superposition" and its relation to the mythologist. The superposition of the mythologist, as noted by the reviewer, should not be seen as a solution but as an explanation to the role of the mythologist in forming or revealing the nature of the myth ideologically and linguistically. The superposition enables the mythologist to exist in different positions and momenta simultaneously. This omnipresent location enables the mythologist to move with the fluid dynamics of the mythic sign.
