Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

The manuscript entitled "The cost of lost productivity due to premature Chagas disease-related mortality: Evidence from Colombia" reports a study about the economic burden due to the premature mortality generated due to the Chagas disease between 2010 and 2017. The manuscript is clear and succinct. The content of the manuscript is useful for researchers that are interested to analyze the impact of Chagas disease in the economies. Since the occurrence of this disease is mainly located in developing countries, knowing the economic impact is extremely important in the development of these economies. There are a few points to change to improve the manuscript. 1- Table 1 - Caption Please replace the Acronym PYWL with the meaning "potential years of work tenure lost" 2 - Table 2 - Caption Please, improve the caption. I suggest: "Premature mortality cost by sex per death and per potential years of work tenure lost" 3 - Conclusion and discussion Please the authors conclude that it is "important to investing in early detection programs" and "initiatives that promote prosperity and well-being for all". But there is no specific point regarding the effective treatments of this disease. Please clarify.
