Botanic Garden Tourism, Social Value, Health, and Well-Being
Round 1

Comments and Suggestions for AuthorsThis is a very timely commentary about the future of our botanical gardens. It promotes Transdisciplinary System Research as a main way to achieve sustainable development goals and cannot agree with this more. Yes, botanical gardens are doing well, especially in developed countries. But they need to further ensure sustainability of their development. TSR can be an answer and this is the main idea and the conclusion of this commentary, which is well backed and supported with the references.
The commentary is very well written, and I do not think it requires any revisions. It is relevant, interesting, original, an added value, and the conclusions are consistent.
In sum, I have no major concern with this manuscript, and I could note only a few typos:
Line 215: change “eclusion” to “exclusion”
Line 228: change “democratistion” to “democratization”
Line 349: change “lecel” to “level”
Finally, some words are spelt not consistently, for example sometimes it is written “organisation”, sometimes “organization”.

Comments and Suggestions for AuthorsDear Authors,
Thank you for reading this comment.
The topic of the tourist, recreational and health value of botanical gardens is particularly close to me because I live near one of them - the Botanical Garden of the Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin. I am observing huge changes in making this area available to a wide range of not only city residents, but also tourists. I see the evolution that has taken place, taking into account its original research and teaching function and its current function - also popularizing the world of plants for visitors.
The study addresses the issues of tourism, social, health and Well-being usefulness of the Botanic Gardens. They were discussed taking into account the relatively broad context of these issues, which further increases the substantive value of this commentary. Moreover, the authors included not only a review of the literature on the subject and an overview of the views of various authors on the above-mentioned issues, but also pointed out research gaps in this area. In addition, the manuscript contains recommendations for botanical gardens regarding the development of tourism and recreation in their areas, as well as their health-promoting values, important for a wide range of recipients, including those with disabilities.
