1. Introduction

This volume presents a collection of contributions at the 3rd International Electronic Conference on Antibiotics held on 1–15 December 2023. Antibiotics have revolutionized medicine, but the misuse of antibiotics has led to bacterial resistance, posing a threat to modern medicine. Current technological advances are insufficient for discovering new antibiotics. This conference encourages the scientific community and stakeholders to discuss recent advances in antibiotic research, covering topics such as Epidemiology, Prevalence and Mechanisms of Microbial Resistance, New Antimicrobial Approaches, Targets and Mechanisms of Action, Antimicrobial Testing and Rapid Diagnostics.
