We are please to announce the renewal of our Flat-Fee Publishing Agreement with the Universidad Católica de Valencia San Vicente Mártir (UCV), following the success of the 2024–2025 agreement.
For an additional year (2025–2026), UCV-affiliated authors will benefit from cost-free publishing across MDPI’s portfolio of more than 500 peer-reviewed journals. The renewal reflects UCV’s strong support for OA publishing, ensuring researchers can share their work widely and without barriers through MDPI’s publishing services.
The agreement facilitates a simplified publishing process for UCV authors and ensures increased visibility and accessibility across scholarly outputs from Spain.
A spokesperson from UCV said: "This agreement supports our research community by enabling them to publish their findings in open access without individual costs and with greater international visibility at no additional cost. For UCV, strengthening open, accessible, and responsibly evaluated research is a strategic priority, and this collaboration makes a decisive contribution to enhancing the quality, dissemination, and scientific and social impact of our work."
Becky Castellon, institutional partnerships manager at MDPI, said: "The renewal of our flat-fee agreement with UCV reflects growing support for open access in Spain. In 2023, The Ministry of Science and Technology launched the country’s first National Strategy for Open Science, with the aim of integrating open science principles by 2027. This includes making all publicly funded research in Spain open access by default and free for all. Through our shared commitment to transparency, collaboration, and knowledge sharing, MDPI is proud to support UCV’s pursuit of open science."
