Society Collaborations Established in January and March 2019

We are pleased to announce the trusted scholarly societies listed below chose to establish cooperations with MDPI journals. As part of a collaboration, the members of these affiliated societies will enjoy a discount on the article processing charges (APC) when submitting articles to the corresponding journals. The collaboration goes beyond the discount benefit offered to members and includes other services as well as cross-promotions.

In January 2019, the following three collaborations were established:

The International Federation for the Promotion of Mechanism and Machine Science (IFToMM)

Spanish Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (SEBBM)

Japanese Society of Mycotoxicology (JSMYCO)

Toxins

IFToMM is a Federation whose mission is the promotion of mechanism and machine science through activities in research and development in the field of machines and mechanisms by theoretical and experimental methods, along with their practical application, and in contacts among persons and organizations of different countries engaged in scientific or engineering work in the field of machines and mechanisms, or related sciences. Main activities with related benefits for the communities from the member organizations can be indicated in meetings, sponsored conferences, collaboration plans in formation and research, editorial works and disseminations, and so on, with worldwide visibility and impact. More details are available on the IFToMM webpage www.iftomm.net .

The Spanish Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (SEBBM), founded in 1963, currently has more than 3’700 members and is Spain's main scientific association coordinating activities related to the broad field of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. The SEBBM is one of the founding societies of FEBS (the Federation of European Biochemical Societies) and COSCE (the Confederation of Scientific Societies of Spain).

The Japanese Society of Mycotoxicology (JSMYCO) works to increase scientific knowledge concerning toxicology, biology, and chemistry related to mycotoxins and mycotoxin-producing fungi, through membership networking, annual meetings, international symposia, seminars and publications.

In March 2019, these three societies chose to establish a cooperation with MDPI journals.

The German Society for Virology (Gesellschaft für Virologie, GfV) promotes the development of Virology as a research area in the life sciences, medicine and veterinary medicine. Founded in 1990, the society is the largest virological society in Europe with about 1’100 members, mainly from Germany, Austria and Switzerland, but also further countries.

The Brazilian Society for Virology (BSV) was established in 1986 to support the development of basic and applied virology in South America. The society promotes the exchange of information and stimulates the collaboration among virologists.

The Italian Aerosol Society (IAS) is a member of the European Aerosol Assembly (EEA) and gathers researchers, professionals, and students dealing with atmospheric aerosols science. The society includes people who believe that an exchange of information and experiences is the way to enhance individual and professional growth and a necessary condition for scientific progress within the community. They are also convinced that the complex field of atmospheric aerosols, with important scientific, health, and environmental implications (and therefore economic and social as well), requires contributions from the many diverse areas of expertise that represent "all the souls in the world of particulate matter".
