Tropical Medicine and Infectious Disease 2020 John M Goldsmid Award

For many years, The Australasian College of Tropical Medicine (ACTM) has awarded the John M Goldsmid Award for the best paper published in its official journal, the Annals of the ACTM, in the previous year. The Award had been established in honor of Emeritus Professor John M Goldsmid, who was the Inaugural Editor of the Annals, from 2002–2008. He was also ACTM President 1998–2000, and was elected as an Honorary Fellow of the College in 2001. The award now continues to be presented in the College's new official publication, Tropical Medicine and Infectious Disease.

The 2020 John M Goldsmid Award will be presented to the individual(s) who wrote the best paper in 2018 in Tropical Medicine and Infectious Disease. The winner will be announced in October 2020.

Some general information about the award:

– The award is given annually to recognize and reward excellence and innovation in the areas of tropical medicine and infectious disease, and related areas;

– The winner will be selected by a panel of distinguished Editorial Board members of Tropical Medicine and Infectious Disease;

– The winner will receive a cash honorarium of 500 CHF, a certificate, and the privilege of publishing an additional open-access format paper of their choice free of charge in Tropical Medicine and Infectious Disease.
