Editor-in-Chief Role Available in New Journal Liquids

Liquids is an international, peer-reviewed, open access journal (free for readers) that is mainly focused on the physical and chemical aspects of liquids and is published quarterly online by MDPI. We are currently seeking applications for the position of Editor-in-Chief (EiC) of Liquids.

The Editorial Board of Liquids, consisting of international experts, invites research papers and communication letters on all kinds of liquids or liquid systems, including simple monatomic liquids and their mixtures; charged liquids (e.g., ionic melts, liquid metals and their alloys, ions in aqueous solution, and metal–electrolyte systems); molecular liquids; quantum fluids and superfluids (e.g., Fermi and non-Fermi liquids, superconductors, Bose–Einstein condensates, correlated electron or spin assemblies); and other related topics.

Applicants must have a strong background and relevant experience in their capacities as author, reviewer, and/or associate editor of related journals. The EiC must also be well-recognized in liquid-related areas of expertise. The main responsibilities of the Editor-in-Chief include the following:

  • Setting the scope and direction of the journal;
  • Advising on the strategic development of the journal;
  • Ensuring the quality of the published content;
  • Coordinating the Editorial Board and stimulating their contribution to the journal;
  • Promoting the journal at scientific conferences and through other venues.

The application for evaluation should include these items:

  • An up-to-date CV;
  • A description of the candidate’s vision for Liquids.

We welcome volunteers who support our mission, values and commitment to providing a high-quality experience for our authors. We are most interested in active scientific researchers currently leading a research group, program, or agenda who have considerable prior experience in authoring and reviewing research articles.

We also welcome scientists in the liquid-related field to join our Editorial Board. If you are interested in becoming an Editorial Board Member for Liquids, please send your full academic CV and a short cover letter (1–2 pages) that details your interest and enthusiasm for the position to [email protected] before 30 November 2020.
